Nellis Meadows Park

Today for Family Day we went to Nellis Meadows Park. We had the playground to ourselves. Alex went straight to the climbing wall and Sabrina was thrilled with the baby swings. This park is mostly a ballpark. The playground was covered in graffiti, but it was still nice. Frank gave Alex a lesson in climbing the wall with 3 points of contact and then a lesson on getting on the swings by himself.

Sabrina mostly was in the baby swing. She did enjoy going down the slide several times also.

An interesting thing to note is that after a while Alex left the playground and walked among the trees. He was doing his own nature walk. This is something he’s never done, leaving the playground before it is time to go. After he walked for a few minutes I joined him. We had a pleasant walk and pointed things out to each other about the trees.

After a little bit he went back to the playground. Alex was quite proud of himself for being able to climb the rock wall all by himself. He told us every time that he made it up. It was a great family day.
