Empty Las Vegas Strip

One day we drove down the Las Vegas Strip just to see how empty it was. It was eery.

Pet Land

Sabrina talked me into taking her to the pet store to play with a puppy. No, we did not buy the hyper puppy that tried to eat her hair, shoes, clothes... Oh, and costs $3500. I was glad he got to get out of the kennel to play for a bit. He didn't even have a chew toy.

Walk in the Desert

Sometimes, just to change things up, we go for a walk in the desert instead of at the park or in our neighborhood.

Wild flowers are in bloom.

The glitter is broken glass. This area used to be used as a dump since it is on the edge of town.

Sabrina and I found a couple of old unbroken bottles.

Easter

The kids were quite happy with their Easter baskets full of games and craft supplies.

We were thrilled that we got to go to the evening church service. There was an order by the governor that church services could only have 10 people in attendance.

Easter Eggs

We got a tie dye Easter egg dye. It turned out very pretty, but it never quite dried and turned our fingers pretty colors.

Sidewalk Chalk

Sabrina drew pictures and wrote cute sayings on the sidewalk in front of our home to cheer people up.

Garden

I wasn't planning on starting a garden until fall, but, hey, I have plenty of time now. We stimulated our back yard with veggies and our front yard with a few flowers.

We have two garden beds and two dwarf fruit trees; a lemon tree and a tangerine tree.

I thought I got a good deal on these bamboo pots, until the day after I put in the the soil and watered. Almost all of them burst.

Jigsaw Puzzles

I put together another 500 piece jigsaw puzzle.

Horseshoes

We are getting better at Horseshoes. Frank even ringed it once.

Daily Exercise

Almost every day we either go for a walk around our neighborhood or go to the local park. Sometimes we go for a walk out in the desert.

Mother-Son time

Alex and I got take out from one of our favorite Mom and Pop restaurants. Then we drove to a local park to eat it in the car and walk around.  It was nice to get out, just the two of us.

Game Night- Mister Rogers' Neighborhood Game

Mr. Rogers is one of Sabrina's heroes, so I got her this card game for Christmas. It is now one of her favorite games.

Baking Cookies

Sabrina baked Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. When classes finish up, both kids will make supper one night a week. I want to make sure they both know how to cook. I didn't learn to cook until I was an adult and Frank had roommates that didn't know how to cook.

Stay-at-Home Art

Sabrina has started to learn the art of Paper Quilling. She enjoys it so much that I ordered extra paper and tools for her. I also ordered, what I thought were beginner kits, but they are either too advanced or have very bad directions.

I figured now was a good time to learn new embroidery stitches. I haven't really done it as much as I thought I would.  Sabrina said she was interested, so I ordered her thread and bobbins and got her her very own organizer. She hasn't touched it since we filled it.

We can't deliver the Caring Cards we make, but we can still make them for when the Ronald McDonald House starts making deliveries again. Sabrina has also started writing to her pen-pals again and this time she includes envelope art.
