Science Demonstrations

We went to a science demonstration fair. There were many booths set up and a whole lot of people there.

Sabrina was bored and let everyone know. Alex enjoyed doing many hands on things. Finally Frank took Sabrina to the park next door.

As we were leaving we saw a bug and spider exhibit. They were letting a tarantula crawl up people's arms. Creepy, but I told Alex he could if he wanted to. He did. The man told the boy in front of Alex that he was brave for letting it crawl up to his sleeves. Alex said, “I felt super brave like a super hero.” He also told me I need more bravery- maybe next time; if I'm brave enough.

Clark County Heritage Museum

We met the homeschool group at the museum. One of the things I like best about the homeschool group is that we qualify for group discounts.

Sabrina met a girl her age, but much smaller. Sabrina kept grabbing the girl's hand to drag her, “friend” wherever she wanted to go. It didn't take long before the smaller girl would hide behind her mom when she saw Sabrina. Poor Sabrina didn't understand. She saw the girl later and called, “Friend, wait for me! Friend!”

Alex's friends weren't there so we were mostly by ourselves. We had a good time anyway.

Maslow Park

I stopped at a WalMart that is next door to a park. Since we had plenty of time and it wasn't hot yet, we enjoyed the morning at the playground.

It was extremely windy, but nice. We had the entire playground to ourselves.

We also watched a flock of pigeons flying around the ball park them landing several times. Alex enjoyed chasing them as we left.

I'll try to make this a weekly trip since we only get the car once a week.

Florida

While in Florida we took the kids to a pond behind the house several times.

Thankfully there were lots of tiny frogs that kept the kids (Alex and his cousin, Audrey) occupied. They caught lots of them and then build frog playgrounds…

One day we took the kids to a park. We then drove around and ended up at another playground.

Remembering Alva

Frank's mom passed away on April 18, 2011. She was well loved and will be greatly missed by many many people. Alex said, “I miss her, she was so nice!”
