Heritage Park

Today we went to 2 parks and to the Natural History Museum, but I’ll make separate posts for each one. It has been a wonderful day: the kids were so well behaved.

After the Natural History Museum we walked to the park next to it. We had the whole park to ourselves. We didn’t stay long, maybe 30 minutes, but the kids had a lot of fun.

Now Sabrina is napping and Alex is relaxing with a cartoon. As Alex said, “It’s been very a good day.”

Natural History Museum with the homeschool group

Today we went to 2 parks and to the Natural History Museum, but I’ll make separate posts for each one. It has been a wonderful day: the kids were so well behaved.

This was our first field trip with the homeschool group. It was a lot of fun and because we went as a group the tickets were discounted; an added bonus. Since I didn’t have to chase Sabrina all over the place I actually got to talk to some of the other moms. Alex got to play with several of his new friends.

We love this museum, but it’s been a while since we’ve been there.

Sabrina was so proud of herself for stacking the blocks.

Alex the archeologist. This is one of the kids' favortie parts of the museum.

Jaycee Park with Gus and Lulu

Today we went to 2 parks and to the Natural History Museum, but I’ll make separate posts for each one. It has been a wonderful day: the kids were so well behaved.

This morning we met Lulu, Gus, and Jr. at Jaycee Park. The kids had a lot of fun and played really well together. We, adults had a lot of fun and got along too, (just in case you were wondering). After the park they treated us to Subway. It was so nice to be with great friends.

Toys R Us and Barnes and Noble

Earlier this week I took the kids to Toys R Us and to Barnes and Nobles just because I love them and I knew they’d have fun. They both had a lot of fun. Simple things like this really make their day.

Gilcrease with Lulu and Jr.

We went to Gilcrease earlier this week with Lulu and Jr. The kids had so much fun. Gilcrease is cheaper than the local zoo and in my opinion better because we actually can touch and pet many of the animals.

Normally my kids run right into the goat pen, but Jr. was a little scared so Alex acted scared. He quickly got over it.

Sabrina has no fear I think she would have climbed into the pen with this guy if I'd let her.

Alex tried feeding a llama by himself and almost got bit because of the way he was holding the food; yikes. Anyway, that's why I'm holding his hand.

Sabrina loved the llamas.

This was one mad bird. After laughing and hissing back I realized her eggs we in the mud right by the fence.

Princess Tot School age 28 months

The Princess theme took two weeks and dress up is mandatory. (Sorry I'm late in posting this.)

Sabrina and Alex played with the Imaginext castle with a few Precious Places princesses thrown in.

Princess Sabrina played with her royal puzzle.

Her Melissa and Doug magnetic Princess was a big hit this week.

Matching with her brother's Clever Castle Game was quite entertaining.

We watched several princess movies such as: Barbie’s the Princess and the Pauper, Bob the Builder: Knights of Fix-a-lot, Strawberry Shortcake: Happily Ever After, and Veggie Tales: Sweetpea Beauty.

Sabrina had a blast figuring out how to use the cannon from the Imaginext castle, because a princess needs to know how to defend the castle.

I made "mattresses" out of extra material for the Princess and the Pea story. Both kids thought it was way more fun to knock them down. Sabrina would stack them then whisper, "sleeping" as she laid the princess down then send the mattresses and princess flying.

Even a princess needs exercise.

We celebrated Dr. Suess's birthday with crafts and games at the library.

Every princess needs a royal carriage. This one was at Chuck E. Cheese.

Sabrina loves the drums at church. She's got pretty good rhythm.

Here's the princess visitng another castle, (McDonald's Playplace).

Of course no Princess theme is complete without princess books: Disney Princesses, Barbie Princess, Strawberry Shortcake: Berry Fairy Tales, Over at the Castle...

We made a scepter,(looks like a wand), by gluing two cardstock stars and ribbon unto a straw.

We also made a castle from toilet paper rolls. The one on the right is Sabrina's.

This was a lot of fun especially since Sabrina is into princesses. There's so much more we could have done... maybe later we will.

Homeschool Group at Acacia Park

We met the homeschool group at Acacia Park again this week.

Sabrina loved the slides.

Sabrina is so proud of herself for being able to use the big swing.

Alex had a lot of fun playing with some boys his age.

Alex showed off his climbing and jumping skills.

Sabrina tried to slide down the middle where the two slides connect. Thankfully I was able to catch her midfall.
