Reunion Trails Park

We enjoyed family time at a local park. The playground was closed due to COVID, but the Splash Pad was open. At first our littlest guy didn't really like the water at all, but he eventually got over it.

Uptown Jungle

We took the little boys to Uptown Jungle as one of our first outings with them. Sabrina had a Prop Making Class at Seedling Theatre the next week, so we got the month pass and I brought the little boys several times during her class.

Seedling Theatre- Willy Wonka- Boxes of Chocolate

I made a box of chocolates for the Willy Wonka play, (the first play I made props for). I liked how it turned out so I instructed Sabrina on how to make a box too.

The boxes were from a gift set and included the shredded paper. The Chocolates are Christmas ornaments that I cut off the hanger part and we painted brown. We used puffy paint for the drizzle.Once they dried, we glued them in the small cupcake liners and glued that to the box. It's simple, but looked real enough that several people thought they were real.

I made the small box of chocolates using a gift box from a dollar store, model magic, a washed out sauce container from a fast food place, puffy paint, brown paint, and glue.

Seedling Theatre- Willy Wonka- Gumball Machine Prop

Sabrina made an awesome gumball machine. I found plans for a similar one on-line and modified it for being on stage. https://sugarbeecrafts.com/diy-gumball-machine-incentives

To make it stage friendly we swapped the glass and clay for plastic planter and a plastic fish bowl. We also used Styrofoam balls that we painted for gumballs. This is the only part that I helped with; Sabrina did the rest of it by herself.

Thanks to COVID there was no live performance. However, we did get a picture of Sabrina's props onstage ready for use in the play. She made many of the props on the Willy Wonka candy wagon.

Our Little Boys

Our boys moved in back in June. Needless to say life has been very different and very busy the last few months. They are four and two years old. They have to live with us for at least six months before their adoptions can be finalized.

Adoption Update

We will be fostering and possibly adopting two little boys soon! They are 4 and 2. They should be moving in with us before the end of June, if all goes according to plan.

Sabrina drew a picture to decorate their room. The two year old likes dinosaurs.

There was a baby bird in our back yard for a few days.

Tennis courts reopened just in time for it to be too hot.

Seedling Theatre- More Willy Wonka Props

Sabrina and I have continued to make props for the upcoming Willy Wonka play.

These lollipops are dollar store jump ropes cut min half and hot glued. I made the green one and Sabrina made the others.

We each made a box of chocolates. They are small Christmas ornaments painted brown with puffy paint for the W's.
