Homeschool Club- Drama Club Play

Alex played "the Man". He was so convincing as a grumpy man that when another character called him "a selfish man"  a whole row of younger kids turned to glare at him.

All of the members of the cast received a certificate of achievement.

Game Night

Bold is is push your luck card game. You try to make matches that can be color, shape, size, or background. You can keep choosing cards as long as you want, but if one doesn't match you don't get any of them.

Seedling Theater- Perspectives and Terri and the Turkey

Sabrina's acting class put on their play, which was a collection of scenes, twice today.  Sabrina was in two skits.

In "Perspectives" Sabrina played a popular girl trying to navigate friendships. She did a good job, though she did get nervous during her monologue and close her eyes.

In "Terri and the Turkey" Sabrina played Grandma. She was hilarious! She added the part where Grandma carelessly waves the ax around as she's talking, which causes several other characters to have to duck.

Sabrina joined this acting class to be able to have some special time with her best friend, who played Grandpa, before she moves this Summer.

Doesn't she have a strong resemblance to Mama from Mama's Family?

The kids did a great job. I am very proud of Sabrina. She worked very hard and did a great job.

Homeschool Club- Uptown Jungle

Our homeschool club had a fun time at a brand new, just opened last week, Indoor Play Place. It is awesome! The kids had so much fun being there with their friends. There was also lots of seating for the grownups, who didn't want to play.

Alex spent most of his time playing dodge ball with anybody who would play.

Sabrina was all over the place. There were lots of climbing things and play tunnels. Her best friend was also there.

This place is only 10 minutes from home and has a weekly homeschoolers special. I can take both kids for two hours for only $16.

Congressional Award- Preparing for a 5K

It is getting hotter. Therefore, Frank and Alex have been running in the evenings. Their next 5K is in two weeks. It will be the last one for the season. In the fall there are a few 5K's that they plan to run.

Sabrina and I will do the fun walk. We have been enjoying walking the dog while the guys do their run.

Ronald McDonald House

These are a few of the Caring Cards that Alex made; (I forgot to take pictures of mine and Sabrina's).

I had planned for us to try making different types of cookies. However, everyone there looks forward to the Snickerdoodles and we are only allowed to do the Cookie Crew once a month now. Alex has the recipe memorized.

Homeschool Group- Last day of Co-op

Sabrina presented the slideshow she put together on seeds. Her teacher told me she did really well. I'm glad because she worked really hard on it.

Alex and his buddy sharing laughs over lunch.

My little buddy, who made me 4 things in art class.

It's been a good and sometimes hard school year. I am very happy for the break.

Next year Alex will have Geography, Worldview, and Chemistry. Sabrina will have Geography, Human Body, writing, and another class that hasn't been decided.

Nursery

Sabrina loves toddlers so much that I think working with them will be a good job for her. After her next birthday she can take an online babysitters' course. I also found a high school course about early child development, that will be a possibility for her. (Just to clarify, I am not searching for high school courses for her. I was looking for Alex and came across that course.)

Easter

Sabrina was quite pleased with her Eater basket. She got a game, specialty crayons (neon and glitter), a jump rope, chocolate, a bracelet that turns into a toy, and her favorite thing; a comic sketch book.

Alex was also quite pleased with his Easter Basket. He got a game, a book, chocolate, silly socks, and a Star Wars action figure.

Every year I buy a couple of these plastic eggs then reuse them year after year. This year I bought a grab bag of foreign coins and got a roll of quarters to fill them with. I made the kids put their coins in their coin books right after opening all the eggs.

After church, we had friends, from our homeschool group, come over for lunch. It was very nice. Sabrina and Suzanne were on the trampoline pretty much the entire time. Alex and Aaron played with his action figures. So Frank and I got to fully enjoy spending time with Hannah and Noel.

I hope you had a wonderful Easter.

Skating Class

Alex still really enjoys his skating class. He is getting better and better at the tricks.

Homeschool Group- Park Day

I was quite happy that there was a big group of teens at the park day. They seemed to have a lot of fun playing Frisbee.

Sabrina really enjoyed the spinning thing. I do not know how she can stay on these things for as long as she does.

Homeschool Club- Easter Party

Our homeschool Club's Easter Party was a potluck at a local park. The kids got a chance to spend time with friends they rarely see. We had a good time, but it was hot.

Homeschool Group- Service Club

In Clark County there are at least 3,000 children in foster care. There are 1,000 licensed homes. This is only one county. Many of us will never be foster parents, but there are ways that each and every one of us can help these families.

Our Service Club has decided to host a drive to collect new and gently used items for these children. We are working with a local nonprofit that will give the items we collect to the foster families, who can use them.

One member has donated a very nice changing table that they no longer need. Another member started looking for clearance items to donate. She has gotten some cute kids clothes for cheap, which of course, means she can buy more. She also found a bunch of Sunny Day items on clearance and bundled them as a birthday party complete with Sunny Day plates and napkins. Others are going through their kids' things and donating gently used toys and clothing.

Roller Skating

The kids and I went roller skating during Spring Break, (they are open during the day when school is out). We got pizza and a drink with our admission.

We all really enjoy roller skating, but it has been a while since we went just for fun. Alex does the drop in class about twice a month. I'm looking forward to when they have the Summer Pass available.

Alex literally lost his head in this picture. I suppose weird pictures like this is why people believe in ghosts.
