It’s a Gas and Goodbye Jacob

Alex’s best friend, Jacob moved to Virginia. Before he left I took him with Alex and me to a science demonstration (sorry no pics). We went with the homeschool group so Alex got to introduce Jacob to some of his new friends. He told Jacob and Noah, “You are both so much fun!”

After the science demonstration we walked the mall then went to McDonalds play place. Jacob also spent the night with us for the last time.

Update: Though we miss them very much, Jacob’s mom is a very good friend of mine, we talked to them today and the boys will be pen pals.

Outdoor service

Last Sunday night we had an outdoor service at a local park. It was fun. I spent most of my time with the kids, Sabrina’s a thrill seeker and has to be closely watched at the playground.

As we were leaving I had the kids pose; several pictures later...

Conference- road trip

Earlier this month we drove to Washington for a Conference. The kids did great on the trip! We stayed in a dorm with several other families.

The services were great. I was very happy that they had Children’s Church for the evening services. Sabrina did NOT like the nursery one bit- I can’t blame her, most of the kids were crying. Alex, on the other hand, loved his classes. During the day services Frank and I traded off who stayed with the kids. It was good to see friends who we hadn’t heard from in a while. We even went to lunch with one of them.

On the way back home we stopped in Twin Falls, ID to spend the night with Uncle Robin, Aunt Vivian, and Lucas. We had a real good time. We all went out for breakfast before heading back home.

I’m glad I don’t live in a place that snows in April!

Tot school- garden theme

Sabrina had a lot of fun playing with our “floral shop.” It’s made of fake flowers, a few flower pots and a couple of small vases. I keep it in a shoe box.

I got this cut and graph worksheet from education.com, (one of my favorites). Sabrina sorted then told me where to put the glue.

We took a field trip to WalMart’s garden center. Sabrina and I reviewed colors then she got to pick out a flower.

Both kids wanted a ride in the swing before leaving the garden center.

Sabrina helped plant her flower. I also made a garden tub like the one on Homeschool Creations, but I don’t have any pictures of it.

Wetlands Park at dusk

We went to the Wetlands Park right before dusk. It was a much shorter walk than usual, but we had a good time. This is one of my favorite places to just get away for a little while.

Of course, we stopped at the play ground before we left.
