Totally Sweet Romantic Date

Sabrina came up with the idea of giving Frank and me a romantic date at home. She completely planned it. She made a menu with a romantic font, she cooked, she provided mood music- romantic jazz, she instructed us to play board games while she cooked, and she waited on our table. So sweet and so fun!

Church Christmas Play

Sabrina is in this year's Christmas Play at church. She is Mrs. Mouse. The play is on Sunday night. I volunteered to help make props, but not to help teach, (did that last year and won't be doing it again).

Sabrina watched several videos on how to make mouse ears then made her own using bits and pieces from the different videos along with her own ideas.

Making scrolls is a multi-step process. https://www.wikihow.com/Make-Coffee-Stained-Paper Sabrina did the first method with me putting them in and taking them out of the oven. (She hasn't wanted to use the oven since she got burned once.) Next, she hot glued the knobs on wooden dowels. Then she taped the papers together and to the dowel. Finally she rolled it up.

Seedling Theatre- Props

Sabrina spent more time working on Elsa's bedroom door for the Frozen play.

Spending one-on-one time with the kids

Frank and Alex went to the Men's Discipleship class. They usually stop at one of Alex's favorite collector's stores near there. Afterwards they usually get coffee or ice cream.

While the guys are gone, Sabrina and I spend time together. Our time together typically involves ice cream, playing games, and watching a movie.

Homeschool Group- Co-op Parties

Alex had an end of the semester party in one of his classes. They got prizes, had snacks, and played games.

I didn't plan to take the kids to play dodgeball. However, one of my puppets got cat fur all over it and several kids in class are allergic to cats. Thankfully, I had dodgeballs in the car.

Ornament Exchange Party

A friend recently invited us to be part of her group. She invited our family to their annual Ornament Exchange Party. It was a lot of fun. (Sabrina traded multiple times and ended up with an airplane.)

Virtual Reality and Ropes Course

As we were leaving the Rainforest Cafe, one of Alex's friends was going to do the Virtual Reality and one of Sabrina's friends was going to do the ropes course. I decided to let the kids try something new with some early Christmas money they got.

Sabrina did every obstacle except for one. Some of the obstacles were 30 feet in the air. She loved it. (Of course, she has a safety harness on).

While I was taking pictures and watching Sabrina, one of the salemen kept giving Alex "free" games. I am not sure how many he played. Then the guy told me that I needed to pay a tip for the free games. I asked Alex if he had any money so Alex handed the other guy a $10 for the tip, but he put towards the games. The other salesman still wanted a tip! Later, I realized that he asked for the tip when the other guy wasn't around and he didn't tell the other guy the money was a tip for the "free" games.

Field Trip- Rainforest Cafe

A friend invited us to join her and her group on a field trip to the Rainforest Cafe. We had never been before, so I didn't realize it was for little kids. I liked the robotic animals, but the prepared speech was certainly geared at the younger kids.  Thankfully both kids had friends there and they all got milk and cookies.

Hospitality

We invited our great friends over for dinner. James just graduated from college so we decided to make it a surprise party for him, (just us and his family). Sabrina mistimed dropping the balloons and they fell on Alex instead.

Seedling Theatre- Making Props

Sabrina is now volunteering at Seedling Theatre to help make props for plays she isn't even in. She is working directly with the owner to learn how to make props that will be used in plays.

She worked on Elsa's bedroom door from Frozen. Mrs. Kris showed her how to make a stencil and how to use one.

That means Sabrina is now taking a free art class under a talented artist and learning all about theatre at the same time.

Homeschool Group- Park

We almost always go to the park across the road from the Co-op after classes are finished. Lately, Alex and Sabrina have been bringing their dodge balls, which the other kids love.

Nursery

Sabrina and I are in the nursery together about once a month. This little man LOVES the Fisher Price Little People bus. He plays with it the entire time every single time he is in nursery. He gives the other little man, not pictured the airplane, but always claims the bus for himself.

Two birthday parties one day

We were invited to two birthday parties in one day, both for one year olds. A lot of the guests went to both parties. Another family was going to have a party for their two year old the same day, but got invites to the other two parties first. The pictures above are from the first party and the pictures below are from the second party. We got both boys puppets.

We were going to get our picture taken with the second birthday boy, but he fell asleep. Alex liked the fuzzy pillow.
