Live Orchestral Screening of The Wizard of Oz

Last night we went to a screening of The Wizard of Oz with music by the Henderson Symphony. It was at the Henderson Pavilion. It was wonderful!

In preparation for this night Alex listened to the audio-book of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and Sabrina read an abridged version. I like for the kids to read or listen to the book before seeing the movie.

Kids were encouraged to dress up as their favorite characters. There were lots of ruby slippers, a handful of Dorothy's, a few Glinda's, a Cowardly Lion, and an absolutely adorable teen girl Scarecrow, (she wore overalls and her blonde hair was the straw under her hat), and one dear Queen Mouse.

I did not tell Sabrina the Queen Mouse was not in the movie. Three women, including the wonderful conductor told her they would have to read the book.
