There are no coincidences (graphic content)

On Sunday the kids found a dying pigeon at church. At the time I wished they hadn’t found it because some of the kids were very upset. Looking back it was a good thing because we got to discuss death with Alex and explain that death is part of nature.

Today we drove by an accident before the rescue workers arrived. We all saw a dead man lying crumpled in the middle of the road, in a pool of his own blood. He was thrown from his motorcycle which was tangled up in a fence along the road. The local news, we checked later, said that the cyclist hit a truck at high speed, smashed into a utility pole, was thrown from his bike and was declared dead at the scene.

Alex asked some questions, but because we had already discussed death a few days ago he wasn’t upset. Frank was able to tell Alex about how after we die we stand before God and if we are Christians we go to Heaven. It’s a lesson which I think will stick with him.

Please be careful while driving this weekend- that was the fourth accident I saw today.
