My city kids have never been berry picking, that is until now! They had a lot of fun with it for a few minutes. Marie-Anne

Louisiana- Amelia's b-day Party at Chuck E. Cheese

After family pictures yesterday, we met at Chuck E. Cheese for Amelia's b-day party. Neddless to say all the kids had a great time while the parents tolerated the place, (it was packed).
This is my favorite picture of my Dad.

Louisiana- Family pictures at Bulow Lake

Yesterday was a busy day for us. We went to Bulow Lake for family pictures, then we went to Amelia's b-day party at Chuck E. Cheese, and after that I took the kids berry picking at Mamaw's.
The cousins had a lot of fun playing while waiting their turn.
During the photo shoot Dad noticed a flat and had to take it to the tire place before they closed. In the rush he took the carseats too. We didn't mind because I took the kids to the smaller playground to wait. Marie-Anne

Healing Crusade

We did a healing crusdade, sponsored by our church, at a city park tonight. We had spent the previous few days spreading the word about the event in the local area. This neighborhood is depressed by sin of all kinds.

We arrived, set up chairs and a speaker system and started. Dear people came who were in bondage to false religion, phyiscal ailments and addictions. Ten precious souls prayed for forgiveness and to have a new life. One woman was healed of back pain and several other prayed for deliverance.

Much like Jesus who took his ministry to the streets, we want to follow in his steps. He confronted darkness and banished it from the lives of those that sought him. The word of God is inseparateable from His wonder working power. Who can argue with a miracle?

Louisiana-Crawfish

We had crawfish! YUMMMY! Marie-Anne

Louisiana- Kent House

The Kent House is a plantation house that has tours and today they had demonstrations of life in those days. We, Mom, Michael, Jessica, Alex, Sabrina, and I went and had a great time.
Alex's favorite part was the cannon, of course, he asked a lot of questions and carefully watched how they loaded the cannon. Then he did it himself. He did such a good job that they let him ewear their hat and jacket. Marie-Anne

Louisiana- Alexandria Zoo

The kids and I are on vacation in Louisiana! We had a nice flight yesterday and arrived safely.
Today we went to the Alexandria Zoo with Michael, Jessica, Jennifer, Amelia, Grace, and Hailey. I am so glad that I rented a wagon, since all the kids were younger than Alex. The kids, big and small, loved riding the train. We had a great time.
Posing with the "animals." (I have a good pic of Michael and Jessica I want to add, but for some reason it won't upload. Hopefully I'll be able to add it soon.)
I love this picture of the girl cousins! Marie-Anne

Shadow Rock Park

This afternoon we went to Shadow Rock Park. I love the set up of this park. The walking path encircles the playground. While the kids are playing Frank and I walk and talk. Both kids were excited to see lizards and butterflies, while their parents enjoyed spending time together.

As you can tell Alex didn't particularly want his picture taken.

Free Car Wash!

Tonight we had a free car wash. Those who stopped were witnessed to and invited to church.

The kids had a lot of fun playing with the hoses between cars.

Thankfully the bed of another church member's truck became our play pen for the three youngest kids. When they got bored I handed them clean rags and told them to clean the truck. I also got a pizza from Domino's.

Alex's favorite part was spraying the cars with the hose. One person insisted on paying Alex and his friend a couple dollars each for washing her car.

After we were done the kids got soaked without asking for permission. Thankfully for them I had a change of clothes for Alex. Sabrina got his shirt and he got the pants and jacket.

Frank got to pray with someone for salvation, so that makes it worth it.

Pastor Appreciation Dinner

On Tuesday we had an appreciation dinner for Pastor Jones and his family. It was a potluck, for which I'm thankful, because I go to church with some good cooks!

Red Springs

Frank took today off so we went to Red Springs for a family hike. We climbed higher than we ever had before.

It looked like Alex was going to make the summit, but it got too dangerous near the top.

After the hike we stopped at the picnic area so Alex could draw the chipmunks(?). We had so much fun watching them scamper around. Sabrina wanted to catch one to take home.

We walked the boardwalk around the meadow. It is so pretty and flowers were in bloom.

This was the first time I brought our nature journals with us. I was pleasantly surprised that Alex stopped to draw several times. Some of his drawings were pretty good too.

This rock has pectographs on it.

Ethan's b-day Bash

On Saturday the church met at Hollywood Park for the pastor's son's b-day party. It was a whole lot of fun. They grilled and had a wonderful picnic.

The kids all ran around playing with each other, the play ground equipment, balls, climbing the hill... The men including Frank had fun playing football and Frisbee.

The kids couldn't wait for the pinata. They swarmed the pastor's wife when she threw the candy in the air. Alex has his arm around the b-day boy, who is also one of his best friends.

Aftewards those who wanted to played kick ball. We all had a wonderful time.

Happy Easter!

He's so cute!

Sabrina is trying to convince me that her candy is her breakfast.

Today is the second best day of Alex's life. At least that is what he said this morning when he got his Easter gifts. He got a bucket and shovel, legos, a lego clock, and a Veggie Tales movie. Sabrina got a bucket and shovel, Lego Friends, a Polly Pocket, a Little Pet Shop, and a Veggie Tales DVD. They also got a Amazon gift card which I used to get Alex a logic game, Sabrina a puzzle, and books for them to share.

We had a Bible trivia game during Sunday School. It was a lot of fun and pretty challenging. Our team won and we got chocolate eggs!

After service we went to a friend's for lunch. They have three kids so the kids got a play-date at the same time. We really enjoyed ourselves.

During tonight's service we had communion. It has been a nice day.

Geisha Steakhouse- no kids

On Friday some friends took us out to eat while their daughter babysat the kids. We went to Geisha Steakhouse. I had never been to a place like this, where the chef cooks at the table, though I'd heard of them. The chef was good and funny. The food was absolutely delicious. After supper we stopped at U Swirl Yogurt. Laura and Chris are wonderful friends and I really appreciate them. We had a marvelous time.

Free Concert at Molaski Park

The kids were excited about going back to the park. Thankfully one of the teenagers from church watched them while I helped invite people to the concert.

We had a really good turnout for the concert. There was standing room only, (after the picture was taken). Eight people prayed for salvation. Several prayed for healing. Several people from the park are supposed to be at tonight's service.

Outreach at Molaski Park

On Saturday morning we met at the church for prayer then went to Molaski Park to invite people for a free concert that night. We also went door to door at the nearby apartments. People were receptive and some were even excited and promised to be at the concert.

The group behind Sabrina is from our church.
