Library- Fratello Marionettes

We went to see the Fratello Marionettes at another library. It was a show that we have not seen before. This one was based on Mother Goose and was geared for younger kids. Alex and Sabrina were the oldest kids by far. I'm still glad we went because the Fratello Marionettes are awesome.

CHoSN- Feeding the Homeless

We joined Christian Homeschoolers of Southern Nevada (CHoSN) as they fed the homeless and gave them toiletries. We fed about 150 men and women. It was sad when we ran out of food and had to turn people away.

I recently found this group and I love that they do lots and lots of volunteer work. There were two other new families, and we all had 10 year old girls.

Library-Teen Service Project

I haven't figured out how to do the ears yet.

Alex picked up a kit, from the library, to make catnip toy mice for cats in shelters. Alex doesn't know how to sew, but he will by the time we are done with this project! I love it when volunteer work also teaches them new skills.

Sabrina was insulted that it was for ages 12 and up, especially since it is such an easy craft. So we are also making this the next project for the Service Club. She is just learning to sew too, though she knows more than her brother.

Truthfully, I'm not that great at sewing either. The mouse in the top picture is my third one, and I still messed up the ears. So, I will learn a lot from this project as well.

Mr. Cow loved the ones we made for him.

Bowling with Nancy

We went bowling with Nancy! We always bring a lunch and make a morning out of it.  It was my best game ever! I got two strikes and three spares!

Library- Fratello Marionettes

Every Summer the Fratello Marionettes perform at our local libraries. We make an effort to find out when and where they are performing, because they are excellent! Sometimes we go to multiple shows at different libraries. The Vaudeville Follies is a show that we had not seen before. Alex's favorite was the clown. Sabrina's favorite was the dog.

They made all of the puppets themselves! I am always amazed by their skill.

Homeschool Group- Park Day

We met the homeschool group at Hidden Falls Park. It was hot so the kids played with our dodgeballs for a little bit then mostly hung out in the shade.

Evelyn brought her Instax Camera. The other girls want one too. I let Sabrina take some selfies with my phone too.

Community Pool

We took a boy  from Frank's Sunday School Class to the pool with us. It was a prize for winning a contest in Sunday School. It was Ricky's first time going to this pool and he loved it! I lost count of how many times he went down the slide.

English Second Language Class

This week's lesson was on nouns.

Starting next week, if Alex isn't needed to help with the class, he will take the oldest boy to play games. The older boy gets bored being in a room full of preschoolers.

Nursery

Sabrina and I had nursery Wednesday night. Sabrina laid on the floor with two toddlers sitting on her. I got them off when they started bouncing on her stomach. Before she could get up they stomped on her belly. Yikes! They weren't trying to be mean just playing a game. They both felt bad when I told them that they hurt her. Needless to say, Sabrina won't be laying on the floor like that again.
