Church-Outreach

We had a couple of outreaches at the Sports park. One weekend we had a play and the next we had a concert.

The kids enjoyed the park while waiting for the outreach to start.

Hemenway Park

On the way back from the Hoover Dam we stopped to see the bighorn sheep, but they weren't there. The kids played on the playground for a little bit.

Sandy and Chris' Visit

We enjoyed Sandy and Chris' fun, but short visit.  The kids absolutely love the quilts she made for them.

While Sandy and Chris were visitng we went to the Hoover Dam. We enjoyed their visit.

Spread the Word Nevada- Volunteer Appreciation Dinner

Frank got to join us for Spread the Word Nevada's Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. The food was catered Mexican – very yummy!!!

It was very nice. The area we clean the books was decorated. There was a table covered in prizes that were to be raffled. We each got a strip of raffle tickets and got to chose which prizes to be entered for. They gave a speech thanking the volunteers then proceeded to do the raffle. Alex won two prizes- the first time he ever won a raffle. (He was super excited.) He gave me a necklace for Mother's Day- Sweet! His other prize was the one Sabrina wanted- a stuffed bird, but it also came with four tickets to Springs Preseve. I also won one with a pretty scarf.

It was a very nice evening.

The kids and I took our friend Nancy bowling. She is a lot of fun and I enjoy spending time with her. Bowling is fun too.

Acacia Park- friendship

We have made some very good friends in the homeschool group. We sometimes get together on days the group isn't meeting. Always fun.

P.S. Do you know how hard it is to get five kids to sit for a picture and look at the camera when they really just want to play?

Wayne and Leann's Visit- games

We played lots of games while Leann and Wayne were visiting.

Settlers of Catan

Zooloretto Mini

Minecraft Card Game

Nacho Loco

Board games are a great way to spend time with each other.

Wayne and Leann's visit- National Atomic Testing Museum

We took Wayne and Leann to somewhere we had never been before. The National Atomic Testing Museum didn't have enough hands on stuff to keep Sabrina occupied so I did not get to learn as much as I would have liked. It was very interesting for older folks.

Wayne and Leann's visit- Red Rock Canyon

We enjoyed a beautiful day at Red Rock Canyon with Wayne and Leann. The weather was very nice.We spent quite a bit of time at the visitor's center.

Alex and Sabrina participated in the Jr. Ranger Program, which I think is a great program.

During the scenic loop we stopped so that Leann, the kids, and I could climb for a bit. It was so much fun.

Wayne and Leann's - Container Park

Once again, I haven't updated the blog in a long time.

We visited Container Park which is a park located downtown and surrounded by businesses in shipping containers. They are really nice inside and you can't tell they are made from shipping containers

The very cool playground equipment is also made of shipping containers.

The kids also had a good time playing with giant Lego bricks.

Afterwards we walked to a souvenir shop. Many people dress in costume to collect tips for photos on Fremount Street.
