Adoption Update

We will be fostering and possibly adopting two little boys soon! They are 4 and 2. They should be moving in with us before the end of June, if all goes according to plan.

Sabrina drew a picture to decorate their room. The two year old likes dinosaurs.

baby bird

There was a baby bird in our back yard for a few days.

Tennis

Tennis courts reopened just in time for it to be too hot.

Seedling Theatre- More Willy Wonka Props

Sabrina and I have continued to make props for the upcoming Willy Wonka play.

These lollipops are dollar store jump ropes cut min half and hot glued. I made the green one and Sabrina made the others.

We each made a box of chocolates. They are small Christmas ornaments painted brown with puffy paint for the W's.

Mother-Daughter Time

Can you tell she doesn't like the mask?

We got McDonald's, through the drive thru, of course, and ate at a park.

Walks

We have gone on lots of walks in our neighborhood, at nearby parks, or in the desert. Frank and Sabrina have also gone running several times a week.

Seedling Theatre- Willy Wonka Props

Sabrina and I have volunteered to make props for Seedling Theatre's Willy Wonka play at the end of July. We are making the candy store. We volunteered for several reasons; we need a project to work on, this counts as Sabrina's art class, and to help Seedling Theatre.

We both made Marshmallow Pops and Twisty lollipops from Model Magic. I know that Marshmallow Pops didn't exist at the time of the story, but we had the materials to make them and this is also Sabrina's art class. Besides, if they aren't used in Willy Wonka, they can be used in other plays.

We also made Swirl Lollipops from dollar store jump ropes. We cut the jump ropes in half for these and hot glued them. You could use the whole jump rope, if you strengthen it so it doesn't flop over. The cut ends have frayed a bit, so we need to fix them.

Empty Las Vegas Strip

One day we drove down the Las Vegas Strip just to see how empty it was. It was eery.

Pet Land

Sabrina talked me into taking her to the pet store to play with a puppy. No, we did not buy the hyper puppy that tried to eat her hair, shoes, clothes... Oh, and costs $3500. I was glad he got to get out of the kennel to play for a bit. He didn't even have a chew toy.

Walk in the Desert

Sometimes, just to change things up, we go for a walk in the desert instead of at the park or in our neighborhood.

Wild flowers are in bloom.

The glitter is broken glass. This area used to be used as a dump since it is on the edge of town.

Sabrina and I found a couple of old unbroken bottles.

Easter

The kids were quite happy with their Easter baskets full of games and craft supplies.

We were thrilled that we got to go to the evening church service. There was an order by the governor that church services could only have 10 people in attendance.

Easter Eggs

We got a tie dye Easter egg dye. It turned out very pretty, but it never quite dried and turned our fingers pretty colors.

Sidewalk Chalk

Sabrina drew pictures and wrote cute sayings on the sidewalk in front of our home to cheer people up.
