Day trip- Lake Havasu City, Arizona
Lake Havasu City was not even on my radar as a place for us to take a day trip. Frank totally planned this trip and it was fun!
The London Bridge is very beautiful.
The London Bridge is very beautiful.
There are replica lighthouses on the island. They are a third of the size of the original ones. We also walked along the beach. I collect beach glass and I found more than I have ever found in one place. It was my first time finding blue.
Alex has a fascination with Japanese history so he requested we go to Shogun Japanese Cuisine. The food was wonderful! Alex even asked if they have one near us.
We visited Castle Rock, in the Havasu National Wildlife Refuge. We did not hike; we simply walked to the water and let Sabrina wade for a while.
There were tons of wildflowers and they were beautiful!

Homeschool Group-Park Day
Friday's park day was at Whitney Mesa Park. I bought a carton of live ladybugs from the hardware store and I thought the kids would enjoy letting ladybugs go at the park. They did.

English Second Language Class
Sabrina and Alex made both made cookies. I am not sure what happened, but Sabrina's did not rise. They were flat and crispy, but still yummy. Alex's cookies got crumbled- I won't put them in a ziplock bag anymore.
Sabrina worked hard to create an elaborate Angry Birds game ready to go, but there weren't any kids. We ended up playing Go Fish and a dice game we made up.
Alex and Frank only had two students. They worked on learning numbers.

Garden
Alex has been reading the All New Square Foot Garden as part of his personal development goal for the Congressional Award Program. Now, he is implementing what he has learned.
The kids and I each chose several plants for the garden, which we planted in separate areas. All of the plants, except for two are food.
This will be a great excuse to get outside everyday. We will each be responsible for caring for our area.
As we were checking out, I noticed containers of ladybugs. They were an impulse buy. We let some go into the yard, but mostly in the greenhouse. I'm hoping a few will lay eggs before they fly away.

Seedling Theatre- Perspectives and Terri and the Turkey
Sabrina absolutely loves her weekly Acting Class. She has parts in two of the short skits they will be performing at the end of the semester. Sabrina has already memorized her lines for one skit and has memorized most of her lines for the other skit.

Homeschool Group- Co-op
Frank took yesterday off so that he could teach Chapel at the Co-op. The kids loved his object lesson. Other parents always tell me how great he is at teaching the kids.
I think we can safely rule out surgeon as a possible career for Sabrina. Their science teacher demonstrated dissecting a sheep's heart, brain, and kidney.

Sunday School and Nursery
I had a new student in Sunday School Class- the orange one. Baby Fox's owner even put a color pencil in Baby Fox's hand and had Baby Fox draw a picture.
Sabrina helped take care of the older kids in the nursery. The lady she was helping had her hands full with a younger toddler.

Garden
Frank and Sabrina put up the greenhouse for my garden. Two days later the wind blew it into our neighbor's backyard, two doors down. Frank and I got it out of our neighbor's yard and into the alley between our homes and the shopping center. Then we drove around and fought the wind to get it back into our own yard. Again Frank put up the greenhouse. This time he used cinder blocks and cable to tie it down.
Alex and Sabrina helped me mix the soil. They will also help choose which plants we buy and help take care of them.
Alex will be putting the knowledge he gains from reading the The All New Square Foot Garden to good use.

Homeschool Group- Park Day
We met our friends from our homeschool group at Hidden Falls Park.
Sabrina can stay on spinning things for a very long time. Not me.
