What a life! While the boys were helping friends move the girls played games.
Nacho Loco is a new to us card/tile game. It is fast paced matching game. Each side of the triangle shaped card has a different color, or directions like Skip turn, Opponent draws 3 cards, or an X. You can't place a card on an X and the cards with directions are used when a match for them is made.
The kids and I have played this several times in the last few days.
Niya is a tile laying matching game. Each tile has two characteristics ex: bird and rain. The player replaces a card with a tile then the next player must choose a card with a characteristic of the previous card. The goal is to have four tiles in a row or no moves left.
Sabrina always beats me at Gobblet Gobblers. I forget that in this tic-tac-toe game bigger pieces eat smaller ones.

Homeschool Club- Centennial Hills Park
After our tour of Gilcrease Orchard we went to a nearby park for a picnic lunch. The moms sat at the tables and talked while the kids played.

Homeschool Club- Gilcrease Orchard
We met the Keepers and Contenders Club at Gilcrease Orchard on Thursday for a guided fieldtrip. It was our first time to go there. The kids learned about bees, chickens, and gardens. We also went on a hay ride. I didn't realize the club was so big. It was hard to get all kids looking at the camera and not making faces.
Sabrina stuck to her friend like glue. I had to pry her away so I could get some pictures.
We each got to pick out a pumpkin to take home.
We had a good time and I hope they learned something.

Indoor Pool
We met my friend and her children at the indoor pool earlier this week. It was a lot of fun. Her son is in Sabrina's class at co-op. His name is Alex, so every time we call one Alex both answer. She is going to teach Sabrina and Alex to swim.

Game Night
Our first game, Acrobats, was a balancing game that I found at the thrift store years ago. It is fun. Our copy didn't have rules so we just take turns placing bats until they fall.
Wonky is a balancing game. The blocks are wobbly and players choose a card that tells them which block to play. I think this game will be a lot of fun when Sabrina is a bit older or for the older members. She had trouble balancing them and got really frustrated.
Sequence States and Capitals is a family favorite. Each player gets three cards and plays a card at a time trying to get four in a row. There are also cards for remove an opponents tile and for place a tile anywhere.
Rory's Story Cubes are dice that you roll then tell a story based on the pictures. Sabrina and Alex both like this. Me, not so much, I always feel that mine aren't very good.

Aunt Vivian, Aunt Carol, and Linda
We had a lovely visit with Aunt Vivian, Aunt Carol, and Linda. The only problem was it was much too short.
(Before they came Sabrina was worried until I told her Aunt Vivian used to be a librarian in a school. She got excited and added a whole bunch more books to her room so Aunt Vivian would notice her library.)

Get Outdoors Nevada Day
Get Outdoors Nevada Day is so much fun! They have so many booths and activities that we didn't do most of them. However, we certainly did enjoy the ones that Alex and Sabrina did get to do. The kids got to try a lot of different things.
They each got to shoot a BB gun. It was a bit hard to hit the target because it was a very windy day.
They got to go kayaking! Alex even got to do it himself. Last year it was just in a giant pool, but this time they got to go around a pond!
Next, they got to shoot a suction cup crossbow at the target.
They got to race on stick horses. It was fun watching them try to rope the "steer".
They got to shoot candy from a slingshot.
Not only did they get to ride bikes, but they were each given a new helmet and learned about bike safety.
They also got to tour a police car and a fire truck. Several booths gave information about various topics too. It was a whole lot of fun.

Scary Clown
Sabrina, Alex, and I were just enjoying our lunch and their new superhero gear when in walked....
Ronald McDonald, himself! Sabrina freaked. She started whimpering, "Scary clown!" Over and over. I kept telling her that Ronald McDonald is the nicest clown in the world and that he helps sick kids and their families. Ronald and I calmed her enough to get her to take a picture with him, but she looks ready to bolt.
Not sure where her fear came from she hasn't seen the news about the scary clowns. She loves people in costumes like Chuck E Cheese or the Panda from Panda Express.

Mt. Charleston
Going to Mt. Charleston is always a fun family day. We hiked for a little bit and just enjoyed being out in nature together.
Don't know why the camera on my phone sometimes does zombie mode.

Meadows Walkable Community Park
When we go on outreach, I almost always let the kids play at any park we come across. The kids only knock on doors when they choose, but they have to stay where we can see them. This time we met up with some of their friends at a new to us park.
Meadows Walkable Community Park has a very small playground and a very big open grassy area with a trail around it.

Lego Store
Every now and then Alex talks us into taking him to the Lego Store. And the kids normally talk us into buying them a set of build your own minifigs...

Barnes and Noble
I still occasionally take the kids to Barnes and Noble to browse. Sometimes we walk. They love to go there.

Sunset Park- Family Hike
For family time we went hiking at Sunset Park. We saw lots of animals; bunnies and birds mostly.
After the hike we let the kids play at the dizzy playground, (almost everything there spins).

Homeschool Group- Sunset Park
We met the homeschool group at Sunset Park right before the splash pad was turned off for the season. The kids had a great time and so did I.
Poor girl, I did not realize she was stuck! I saw her and just thought she was having fun. I told her next time she needs to tell someone if she needs help.
