Frank's company picnic was at the Adventuredome at Circus Circus. The kids had never been to a carnival so it was super exciting to them. For future reference, Alex does NOT like the roller coaster. However, Sabrina likes ALL the rides, (she's just not tall enough).

We got home yesterday just in time to eat, go to church, then come home and crash.

Feeding ducks in Natchitoches

After the fort we went to the riverfront in Natchitoches to feed the ducks. There were hardly any ducks there, but the kids didn't care.

Fort St. Jean Baptiste State Historical Site

Mom, Dad, Frank, and I took Alex, Sabrina, and Amelia to Natchitoches to visit the fort. The kids had a great time playing with the hands on activites in the museum.

Then we walked to the fort.

It was very interesting and only the second fort my kids have been to.

Chandler's Creek

As I said before, Chandler's Creek is one of my favorite childhood spots. I spent many, many, many happy hours there as a kid.

Jessica, Frank and I took the kids there for several hours on Monday.

The kids were excited to see what Aunt Jessica caught.

They used the buckets a little different this time. We had a great time.

Good-bye, Mamaw

During the night my grandmother passed away. Mamaw was a great lady and she is greatly missed. I was privileged to have grown up next door to her.

We are flying to Louisiana in a few hours.

While Frank was helping at the new church building the kids and I went to Jaycee Park's splash pad! Alex loved his new squirt gun.

Joy's Life Diet

Frank and I started Joy's Life Diet on June first. Joy Bauer is a nutritionist for the Today Show. We haven't followed the diet exactly, but still the results are amazing. If you're looking to lose weight or just eat better I highly recommend checking her books out from the library like we did.

Wetlands Park

Yesterday, we went to the Wetlands Park for family time. We saw rabbits, turtles, fish, insects, and birds. As usual, we had a great time.

It always feels good to get away and escape to the nature of the Wetlands Park for a little while.

The kids had a good time at the playground, because, of course, we cannot go to the Wetlands Park without stopping at the playground!

Coloring book drive

Alex started a coloring book and crayon drive for Sunrise Children's Hospital and the Las Vegas Rescue Mission, (a homeless shelter). He has asked friends and Frank's work for donations. So far he's collected 38 coloring books and 33 packs of crayons.

 Alex is planning to continue collecting until he reaches his goal of 100 coloring books and packs of crayons. We are very proud of him. Way to go, Alex!
