We haven’t been to this park since Sabrina was a baby. We had the whole playground to ourselves.
This picture was right before she fell and we decided she’s not ready for the climbing wall. (She wasn't hurt.)
They love it when Frank’s able to go with us because, “he’s our Papa and he’s fun!” They both had a whole lot of fun.

Tot School- 26 months
Sabrina practiced colors with her Learning Resources Rainbow Color Cones from Target. She can’t put the ice cream on the cone so we used her toy plates instead.
She had fun with her dollhouse.
She got to play with puzzles several times this week.
Sabrina liked the stars on the back of these two piece puzzles better. She would put them together then turn them over and line them up.
We also went to two parks.

Hollywood Park
After we got back from meeting the homeschool group (at another park) I took the kids to Hollywood Park so Frank could get some work done. They had so much fun. My kids were thrilled to be able to go to two parks in one day.
Alex was trying to build a bigger castle than a group of girls. Sabrina was trying to knock their castles over- I redirected her to the slides.

Meeting the homeschool group at Acacia Park
Today we took the kids to Acacia Park so I could meet the homeschool group to see if we’ll be a good fit. They are on the other side of town, but no farther than I’d have to drive to get anywhere in Louisiana. They meet every Friday, mostly for socialization. Alex wants to be part of the “club,” as he called it. Frank played with the kids while I talked to the other moms. I think it will be very good for us to join this group.
Alex enjoyed climbing.
This is Sabrina’s first time by herself on a big swing!
Acacia Park is a really nice park. It has a splash pad that we can use in summer. It was nicely landscaped. It also has demonstration gardens. Maybe next time I’ll get there early so I can see more of it.

Reply to X-box labeling autistic child a cheater
click for story
This story is truly sad. My brother is autistic. He would turn the screen blank to play Mario Brothers by sound alone- and he would WIN! He has a photographic memory. He could also say the lines of Star Trek movies along with the characters in their voices.
These children are different in ways we cannot understand, but they are truly amazing human beings as well.

Happy Anniversary to us!
Today we celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary.
Weren’t we cute?
We sent the kids on an all day play-date. Then we went to the Wetlands Park all by ourselves-just the two of us. With no chaperones or screaming hyper kids! We had a real nice relaxing time.
Still in love after 9 years!
Yep, he’s still wonderful and cute.
Yep, I’m still a crazy tree hugger.
We ate takeout from Arby’s, just like we did on our wedding night. We spent time enjoying our wedding scrapbook and the quiet. We even got an uninterrupted nap!
When we went to pick up the kids our friends cooked for us- it was a great surprise. I told them they had this whole babysitting thing backwards; normally people get paid to babysit not do it for free then cook dinner. (We have some wonderful friends.)

Snow at Mt. Charleston
We took the kids to Mt. Charleston to play in the snow. It was Sabrina’s first time to see snow. We had a real nice time. I wanted for us to build a snowman, but the snow was packed. The kids didn’t care they just had fun!
Aren't they cute?
The snow brought back childhood memories for Frank, but not me- no snow in Louisiana.
I was amazed at the size of this tree.
It is so nice to get away every once in a while and do something completely different.

Tot School- 26 months
We had a fun and busy tot school this week. We concentrated on sorting and matching. Sabrina did a really good job with it.
She played with her Elmo shape sorter mailbox more than she ever has.
She absolutely loves the Melissa and Doug stack and sort board she got for Christmas.
She sorted ponytail holders by colors into ice cream bowls from Dollar Tree.
She matched her Little People Bingo game and put the two piece puzzles together. This was her first time using this game and her first time putting together interlocking puzzles.
She had fun with paint and stamps.
Sabrina had fun stacking and kicking her nesting barrels.
I just rotated her play kitchen back out of storage and she spent quite a while cooking for her baby.
Sabrina is finally letting me read to her! She usually walks off half-way through a book. I’m excited that she is finally taking an interest in reading.
Tot School on the Go:
Story time at the library is always fun. We go almost every week.
We had a good time at MLK Park.
