Baby Josh's B-day Party

Tonight the kids and I walked to Baby Josh's b-day party. There were a lot of kids from church there. The kids all had a great time. Josh loved the gifts we got him a big ball, stacking cups, and ball maze.

Play Date with Keenan

The kids were super excited to have an all day play date with Keenan yesterday. I'll start babysitting him on weekdays next week. They have missed him so much.

Don't you love the horses that look just like the couch pillows? And the cowboy hat that looks just like my winter hat?

Crystal Palace

For Family night we went skating at Crystal Palace. Instead of skating, Frank watched Sabrina in the hall by the rink. By the end of the night she was able to walk on her skates pretty well.

We discovered that the skates we got Alex for Christmas were too small- oops. He loves to skate and he is pretty fast along the wall; he was even passing people up. It won't take long and he'll be out there without needing the wall. He even tried to do the Hokey Pokey, but he's not quite ready for that yet.

I had fun skating. I love to skate. It is my favorite form of exercise. There was a school group there and it was dangerous out there- I had several close calls with little kids.

The only problem was the music. I hate hiphop. They have a Christian music night once a month. It costs a little bit more, but I think it will be worth it.

Winterwood Park

We stopped at Winterwood Park for a few minutes. We would have stayed longer, but it was COLD.

Wetlands Trail

For family time we went to the Wetlands trail. We all had fun climbing this tree. We spent more time there than we had been. It was a whole lot of fun.

MLK Parade

A group of us went to the MLK Day Parade to pass out gospel tracks. Even the kids had a blast passing out tracks. We met another group doing the same thing, after talking for a few minutes it was decided that they would take one side of the street and we would take the other.

The group of young people behind Alex are reading one of the tracks.

Of course, when the parade started the kids got to watch it. They were super excited because this was their first parade. Alex really loved it and wanted to stay longer. Sabrina got really whiny about halfway through the part of the parade we watched- it's a really long parade.

Riding Ponies at the Swap Meet

Today, we surprised the kids by taking them to the outdoor swap meet. They got to ride the ponies and they got a couple dollars to spend or save.

Stewart Place Park

After the concert the kids and I went to Stewart Place Park for a picnic and to play. It was the first nice day we have had in a while.

I do not know the purpose of these poles. Maybe, at one time there was a slide there? Sabrina has been told not to do this one. Of course, she tried it when my back was turned and she fell and hurt herself. She landed on her face- I'm very thankful for the foam matting. The whole side of her face was pink and I'm sure she'll have a bruise.

Jim Gill Concert

The kids really enjoyed the Jim Gill Concert at the library. The librarians play his songs a lot during story- time. They were silly kids' action songs.

Street Preaching on the Strip

The Strip is the main tourist section of Las Vegas- where  a lot of the big casinos are. We went street preaching there. Very few people stopped. Some people did take pictures of John or Frank as they passed by.

The kids had fun running around and pretending the lion was trying to get them.

Thanks, Mom!

We got home late Friday night. My mom got to see the kids' classes at the recreation center. Afterwards we had brunch and took her to the airport. Thank you, Mom, for watching the kids so we could go!

Watson Lake part 2

On another day we went to another part of Watson Lake. It is unbelievable that this is the same place, just a few minute drive from where we were. It was kind of surreal. I was overcome by the natural beauty of this place.

Aren't we cute!

The ice was so thick that big rocks were sitting on top. Frank had some fun throwing a few himself.

We had a nice, cold, hike down to the water's edge.

Watson Lake part 1

While in Prescott, Frank and I visited Watson Lake twice. It is an absolutely beautiful place. I could have stayed for hours, but we didn't have hours.

It was fun to get away- just the two of us for a while.

This tree is filled with a flock of singing birds.

Conference

The Conference was such a blessing to Frank and me. The theme was Handfuls on Purpose, from the book of Ruth. There were 16 sermons mostly about God's Provision, but also about how God uses us to provide for others.

Games with Nana

Sabrina had fun playing her new game with Nana. (Sunglasses help you win.)

Chuck E Cheese

After church we went to Chuck E Cheese. Sabrina heard us talking about going to the place with the mouse and she wanted to catch the mouse to feed to the neighborhood cat- she changed her mind when she found out the mouse we were talking about was Chuck E Cheese.

Red Lobster

We took Mom to Red Lobster. Of course, the kids favorite part was touching a lobster.

PB&J for the homeless

We made two loaves worth of PB&J sandwiches to deliver to the same area where we fed the homeless last month. Some of the same guys were there and we gave them lunch and talked with them for a bit. Mom went with us and the kids got to pass out the sandwiches. My heart really goes out to the homeless men and women we have met.
