Pahrump

Today we drove to Pahrump for family day. It was a nice drive. The kids were thrilled that we stopped to eat at a Burger King that had the best playplace I've ever seen. Of course we stayed there for a while.

Next we went to the Pahrump Museum. It had a nice collection of antiques and artifacts. The kids had fun, but got bored soon, (so did their mommy). We took the walking tour and that was better.

We left the museum and went to Petrack Park. The kids had loads of fun there. Alex joined in on a big game of chase and Sabrina had Frank push her on the swings almost the whole time.

On the way home we stopped on a side road in Spring Mountains and walked around a bit. It was so pretty and peaceful. I could have stayed for much, much longer.

All in all it has been a very nice day and we all had fun.

Chuck E. Cheese a.k.a. Muck E. Cheese

After picking Frank up early we went to Famous Dave's BBQ for lunch. YUM! Then we took the kids to Chuck E. Cheese, or as Sabrina says it, “Muck E. Cheese.”

As much as she loves “Muck E. Cheese,” Sabrina wasn't too keen on meeting him face to face. Alex on the other hand was thrilled.

Alex had a lot of fun playing games against us. He loves to rub it in when he beats us.

Alex said it was the best day of his life after he won 125 tickets on one game. Frank and Alex won a whole lot of tickets. All together we had 371. Both kids got to pick out some junk, I mean prizes. We left with two very happy children.

Mission Hills Park

Today I took the kids to Mission Hills Park for about an hour before we picked Frank up. They had a great time and it gave me some time to think and relax.

Town Square

After the Sunday morning service a group of ladies went to Town Square for Japanese Food and frozen yogurt.

Sabrina took this picture of me. (She loves to play with my camera and some pics turn out okay.)

Then we took the kids to a park that featured a treehouse and a hedge maze. Sabrina had a whole lot of fun there.

After leaving the park we all took a train ride. It was actually on wheels not a track, but it looked like a train and that's all that mattered to Sabrina who kept making train noises during the ride.

Sabrina really enjoyed the girls day out and so did I.

Sunridge Park

Last Friday, we went to a new to us park with some friends. This park is in a very nice part of town that I have never been to before. Alex was thrilled to have Ethan, Andrew, and Daniel with us. Sabrina was also excited to have two new friends her size with us, (I don't know the new girls' names). The kids could have stay there much longer than we did, but maybe next time.

Mission Hills Park

Last week the kids and I stopped at Mission Hills Park. There were hundreds of bees on the flowers. Alex was super excited to have a ladybug walk on his hand.

Lewis Family Park

We recently went to Lewis Family Park for family day. We went right about the time that school was let out. It was so sad to watch these unsupervised kids. A group of middle school boys were trying to outdo each other with their bragging, lying, and cursing. A cute little girl who couldn't have been older than third grade was hanging out with slightly older guys and what appeared to be her older sister. She was wearing a sweatshirt and daisy duke shorts, (it was chilly). This poor girl faced the boys and grabbed herself- she couldn't have been older than 8 or 9! Then there were young teenage girls smoking something in the bathroom. (We didn't stay long.)

My heart was grieved for these young kids, but also thankful that my kids won't face the same influences and bad role models these kids have to deal with on a daily basis.

My kids were completely oblivious and had a great time.

Wetlands Park

Lately we've been going to Wetlands Park for family night during the week, (if we go out). It gets us outdoors and it's good exercise. It's one of my favorite places here and it's very close to the house.

St. Patrick's Day

Frank's work held contests for best dressed-up, leprechaun trap, and coloring page. Frank won the best dressed- a twenty-five dollar gift card. (I only spent two dollars on his outfit!) The kids both got ten dollar gift cards to Cold Stone for participating.

Jaycee Park

A couple of weeks ago I took the kids to Jaycee park for a picnic and to play. We had a great time.

Shadow Rock Park

For family night we went to Shadow Rock Park to walk and let the kids play. We started out atone play ground and ended up going to the smaller one because some kids were being mean to Alex. He was quite happy at the smaller playground because those kids were nice.

Phoenix duck pond (the forgotten post)

While lost in Phoenix we stopped at a duck pond and the kids had fun feeding them fritos.

Wetlands Park

Frank got off early on Tuesday so we took the kids to walk the trails at the Wetlands Park. As usual we had a great time. We saw some kind of bird of prey and several cranes.

Afterward we dropped the kids off at a babysitter's!

Concert Night and a Game Show?!

Our church sometimes puts on skits and concerts for the community. It is always a lot of fun. Below is the video of the gameshow and Frank speaking to the crowd. The audio on the game show is low, so crank up the sound!

From Emptiness to Fulness.

Skit: A game show with a message!

Dad's Visit- Historic Railway Trail

We were thrilled that Frank's Dad came to visit. We had a wonderful visit. Both kids competed for his attention. We took him to Springs Preserve and the next day we hiked the Historic Railway Trail.

The weather was perfect for a hike.

Alex had fun searching for interesting rocks and tearing down the mountain by taking crumbling rocks.

A photo op by one of the educational signs.

We took a cookie break, even though we ate before coming and were planning on going to eat after the hike, (kids).

It was a good hike. We went farther than we did last time, (partly due to Sabrina being in the stroller).
